Is your cup half full?
With a cabinet full of white coffee cups this is my special cup-everyone in my house knows it’s mom’s cup.
Morning are crazy at our house! Between baths, breakfast, and trying to get three people out the door-we are rushing from the second our alarm clock goes off and our feet hit the floor.
This cup was gifted to me 17 years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter. All these years later, it still brings me joy when I open the cabinet door and my Aquarius cup is waiting for me. Sometimes a visual reminder is all you need to appreciate life’s little pleasures that are often taken for granted-like your first sip of coffee.
You may have read that and thought- that’s silly but seriously take a second to reflect-when was the last time you actually savored that first sip? What did it felt like to hold the warm cup in your hands? The smell? The taste? Can you remember? If the answer is no and you had coffee this morning it’s been too long. #youredoingitwrong
Too often we are in a rush to do “all the things” and before we know it, we’ve already drank a pot of coffee and it’s past noon. We spend too much time comparing ourselves to everyone around us and chasing “the next big thing.” Plzzzzzz don’t get me wrong- “Next big things” are nice and goals are important but what about all the time in between?
Gratitude is everything. Learning how to appreciate life’s little gifts is a practice. The more gratitude you have, the happier you’ll be. That’s science, folks!
